Dear Mattel,
I may be less than happy with your mad capitalist dash to churn out millions of new dolls and characters at a rate that makes my head spin, and
Dear scalpers,
you may be waiting at six AM to kidnap new dolls in droves the moment they hit store shelves, making distribution seem even worse than it is to begin with,
but dang.
It cannot be argued that Monster High shoes just get more and more incredible.
Look at Cleo's Skull Shores heels!

I think I will stick to admiring them from afar (if I ever even see the gift pack in person), but you gotta hand it to the designers at Mattel for having some brilliant ideas. Little details like that remind me that there really are fun, creative people behind these dolls, and amazingly talented sculptors, even if these facts get overshadowed by the ridiculous production rate, and the fervor of rabid collectors who are snatching up new dolls before their last ones are out of the package. I want those shoes more than I want the set of dolls!
And how about Draculaura's anchor heels, or the cobras on Nefera's heels that extend all the way into the tread pattern? (I don't have Nefera but I saw this when my friend got the doll).
Oh Mattel, your quality control may be atrocious and the eyes of your marketing people may be filled with dollar signs, but your sculptors and designers still got it. Thank you for never skimping on the details.
Begrudging love,
-Prawnleggity Jey
Any other favorite shoes out there? Or, what are your other favorite Monster High details?
