Welcome to Glitterati Challenge: 1 November - December To kick off our first Glitterati Challenge for MHGlitterati forum, the theme will be... Winter/Christmas I don't know about you, but I am totally charged up and sparking all over for Christmas this year! For those of you who may not celebrate Christmas, I hope you will still consider a "Winter" (or whatever season it is you have through December!) entry. For those that do celebrate Christmas, don't be afraid to go nuts with the Christmas spirit! Need some inspiration?- Try replicating one of your favourite scenes from your favourite Christmas story or bring the lyrics of your favourite Christmas song to life... or unlife!
- Play around with costumes and dress your stars accordingly!
- Don't be afraid to think outside the box! (staying within the rules of course )
Once you're done, just post your image/s in this thread!
Discussions about the Challenge are also welcome in the thread as well as any extra questions you may have. If you haven't already found your way to the Glitterati Challenges! thread, please do so before entering. It contains everything you need to know about entering (including a few important rules) and can be found here: mhglitterati.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photography&action=display&thread=28This challenge starts now and will continue through until the end of December.

for clarification- do people actually 'enter' or just post their artwork here when complete? is the thread open to discussion or just for art?

Oh great questions dIGITS! I can't believe I missed that. I'll add the answers to the opening post also... But yes, by "enter" I meant to post in this thread and discussion about the challenge is also fine for this thread For a "challenge" it's rather relaxed and very much still on training wheels If there's any other questions, just ask

Awww Mindy, that's the cutest! Especially Clawdeen holding that huge ornament. ;w; Here's mine! Took me way too long to set up! Clawdeen hears reindeer on the rooftop while she warms up by the fire: I have an idea for another, which I'll hopefully figure out how to shoot soon. This prompt is a fun challenge for those of us without actual winters. ;D

Prawnlegs, that picture is stunning! I love how the lighting is perfect and she really does look as if she's looking up because she's heard something on the roof. The kittens are a gorgeous touch. Amazing work!

Mindy, yours is so cute and in character. I can totally see that scene playing out in a webisode someday! Love the tree and ornaments. Prawnlegs, yours is awesome! The scene looks so quiet and peaceful and warm. Clawdeen looks so relaxed and it really does appear as though she's listening carefully for sleighbells. Here's mine, finally! Frankie: Holt, you know it's winter... Holt: Yeees? Frankie: And it's really cold in here.... Holt: Uh huuuuh? *Scoots closer* Frankie: So why are you still wearing those tiny shorts!? Holt: *backs away* .... :'<

Love everyone's entries! Fun pictures! I didn't think I'd get through in time, but just barely made it! This is a Christmas outfit I made, it's hard to see the details because my digital camera is digitally challenged. Frankie's wearing DotD Ghoulia's shoes. Her stockings are red and white on the right leg and green and white on the left. The little red shirt has green ribbon straps (it was originally going to be a corset but didn't work out, but I like it like this too). It has silver accent stitching. Her skirt features peppermint candies and little snowflakes, with silver glitter scattered across the fabric. She's holding a gift for her little pony friend (and the ponies do look tiny compared to the MH dolls).

Princessjes - Frankie looks adorable! I love the dialogue too XD Holt is hilarious in his little hot pants! Bewilderness - I love the outfit you've made for you Frankie! Ghoulia's shoes look amazing on her. Very Christmas-y I Love all of the entries! Thank you so much for being a part of the fist challenge! This one is still open until the end of December so if you feel like adding some more, go ahead! Any thoughts on a theme for the next Challenge (Jan/Feb)? ^_^

PrincessJes, HAHA, the saga of the tiny shorts continues! Come on Frankie, he makes it look good. The dialogue's as hilarious as it is a bit sad. XD Bewidlerness, I can't believe you made that outfit. It's perfect! I love the elfy tights. It's hard to argue with "Pirates" as a theme. Before I read that I was thinking "Adventure," but we do also have Valentine's Day coming up.

Oooh yes pirates/sea adventures will definitely have to be a theme!!
I totally forgot about Valentines.. Maybe Jan/Feb can be dedicated to Monster love? Followed by March/April being pirates? Unless we wanted to do something Easter related for March/April? THEN have the pirates/adventures in May/June because THAT needs to be done!
It's probably a better idea to have them decided in advance anyway in case props need to be made/collected ;D

XD Ooh yes, we need to see some Sweet 1600 love! ...because I need the encouragement to have more MH dolls in my life I shall put a new thread up for Challenge # 2 tomorrow so you can start when ever you like! (- I'll close this one on the 31st, so there's still a few days left for any late entries!)

i didn't have time to take perfect pictures so i just played with some basic editing instead.... update. by paumasaur overwhelmed again, on Flickr postcard by paumasaur overwhelmed again, on Flickr softchristmas by paumasaur overwhelmed again, on Flickr i just put in three photos because i didn't know which i liked the best. they all have their qualities. i like the cluttered look with a ton of presents but i also like the clean look with very few. draculaura looks sophisticated with her glasses and wine and toralei just wants to open more gifts. i like frankie about to eat the candy cane but i also appreciate the one where frankie and draculaura are in conversation... meh... undecided. maybe january/february will be easier

Those are so cute dIGITS! Glad you could get them in on time ;D I really like the one with Frankie and Draculaura in conversation. EDIT: The poll is up! Since we're still quite a small forum, I thought 2 votes each would help beef up the results. Let me know what you all think!

That was a really tough choice, I love all the pictures.
Mindy, if you'd like, I can donate a handmade shirt as a prize for the next round.

I couldn't ask you to do that bewilderness, thanks for the offer though! Maybe some of us could collaborate to put together a mid year or even end of year prize? We could create a challenge specifically for it! I need a little bit more practice at custom clothing, but I'd be more than happy to donate something myself if we were to do something like that

That sounds cool. Once the Arena's running smoothly again, I'll go back and find my post that had several links to clothing patterns and tutorials and post the links here on Glitterati.
